-----Chocolate Revel Bars----- 1 cup butter, softened 2 1/2 cups flour 2 cups brown sugar 2 eggs 2 teaspoon vanilla 1 teaspoon baking soda 3 cups quick-cooking oats 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips 1 14oz can sweetened condensed milk 2 tablespoons butter 1/2 cup chopped walnuts 2 more teaspoons vanilla ---In a very large mixing bowl, beat the 1 cup butter with an electric mixer on medium to high speed about 30 seconds or until soft. Add about half of the flour to the butter. Then add the brown sugar, eggs, first two teaspoon of vanilla, and baking soda. Beat until thoroughly combined, scraping the sides of the bowl. Beat in the remaining flour. Stir in the oats. Set this mixture aside. ---For the filling, in a medium saucepan, heat the chocolate, condensed milk, and the 2 tablespoons of butter over low heat until chocolate is just melted, stirring often. Remove from heat. Stir in the nuts, and remaining vanilla. --For crust, press two-thirds of the oat mixture into the bottom of an ungreased 15x10x1-inch baking pan. (a smaller pan will give you less, but thicker, bars.) Spread the chocolate mixture over crust. Drop the remaining oat mixture by rounded teaspoons on top of chocolate layer. --Bake in a 350-degree oven about 25 minutes or until the top is lightly browned. Chocolate will still look moist. Cool in pan on a wire rack. Cut into bars, and ENJOY!!! Reprinted from Better Homes and Gardens "Cookies Cookies Cookies!" Cookbook
